We're hiring: Business Development Manager
Same day logistics has run the same way for decades. We're the Bristol born team rewriting it - with tech, reliability, real personality, and a brand that actually looks good. Two years in, we've doubled in size and landed a client base that spans blue chip names and major players across building merchants, plant hire, construction, law, pharma and film. And we're only getting started.
Now we need a driven salesperson to help us go further, faster.
Forget scripts and cold call lists. You'll get real accounts, real autonomy, and a real stake in where this business goes - including the chance to build and lead a sales team as we scale.
About Send It Direct
We deliver same day B2B courier and logistics services through a hybrid fleet of employed and branded drivers, backed up by trusted subcontractors, with 24/7 UK based phone support and a live booking portal. Because when a client's delivery is on the line, they deserve a human who picks up the phone.
We've grown by winning trust branch by branch, relationship by relationship, in industries that value reliability and personality over flashy apps. We're now scaling that model nationally, investing in our own driver platform and technology, and actively exploring acquisitions to accelerate growth. It's an exciting time to join, you'll be building the sales engine for the next phase, not just executing someone else's playbook.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you'll own new business generation and help grow key accounts across our core verticals. You'll work closely with our Commercial Director and Operations team, with a clear path to building out and leading a sales function as the business scales.
What you'll be doing
- Identifying, prospecting and winning new B2B accounts across target verticals
- Running the full sales cycle from first outreach to pitch, proposal and close
- Developing and growing existing key accounts, spotting upsell and cross-sell opportunity
- Building relationships at branch and regional level. This is a face to face, phone first sales culture, not a spray and pray email job
- Working with the ops team to make sure what's sold is delivered flawlessly - you'll be a trusted voice internally, not just externally
- Contributing to pricing, proposals and tender responses for larger strategic accounts
- As you prove yourself, taking on responsibility for mentoring and eventually leading additional sales hires

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who You Are
- A proven track record in B2B sales - logistics, courier, transport or a related service industry is a strong plus, but not essential
- Someone who's happier picking up the phone or getting in the car than hiding behind an inbox
- Commercially sharp - you understand margin, value based selling, and how to navigate a multi stakeholder sale
- Self motivated and comfortable with autonomy - we're a lean team and trust people to own their patch
- Ambitious - genuinely excited by the idea of helping build and eventually lead a team, not just hit a personal number
- Based in or around Bristol, with a full UK driving licence
Why Join

- Uncapped earning potential - strong base plus a genuinely generous, uncapped commission structure
- A people first culture built by founders who still answer the phone themselves
