WE’RE HIRING: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Gegan Environmental Management Ltd

Can you open doors, build relationships and turn opportunities into profitable business?

Gegan is looking for a commercially minded Business Development Manager to help grow our waste management and resource recovery services.

We help businesses reduce waste, improve recycling and find better uses for their materials. From total waste management to food waste recovery and specialist environmental services, our approach is simple: understand the customer’s operation, challenge the existing setup and deliver practical improvements.

We’re looking for someone who can take that approach to new customers and build lasting commercial relationships.

The role

You’ll own your sales pipeline, win new business and develop customer accounts, with clear personal targets and support from our management and operations team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and approaching prospective customers through calls, networking, referrals and site visits.
  • Meeting customers to understand their waste streams, costs and operational challenges.
  • Developing tailored proposals that improve service, reduce waste and deliver commercial value.
  • Negotiating pricing and contracts that generate sustainable profit.
  • Building relationships with decision-makers across manufacturing, food production, distribution and other commercial sectors.
  • Maintaining accurate opportunities, activity and forecasts in our CRM.
  • Working with operations to ensure customers and suppliers are approved and set up before services begin.
  • Growing existing accounts through additional services and strong customer relationships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
