Business Development Manager – South Wales & South West
Competitive salary + package | Building Materials | Manufacturing | Construction
We are supporting a confidential retained search for a Business Development Manager with a leading organisation operating within the building materials and construction sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional to take ownership of new business development across South Wales and the South West, identifying opportunities within the commercial property market and developing long-term customer relationships.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing new business across the territory, identifying commercial properties that could benefit from roofing refurbishment or replacement, and developing these opportunities through to sale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new business across South Wales and the South West.
- Identifying commercial properties with roofing refurbishment or replacement opportunities.
- Building relationships with property owners, facilities managers, surveyors, developers, and other key stakeholders.
- Generating and managing a pipeline of new opportunities.
- Taking opportunities from initial contact through to specification, quotation, and sale.
- Presenting roofing, building-envelope, and associated solutions to customers.
- Working closely with internal technical and commercial teams to develop tailored solutions.
- Maintaining strong customer relationships and consistently delivering against commercial targets.

About You
We are open to candidates from a variety of relevant backgrounds, including:
- Roofing or building-envelope Business Development Managers.
- Sales professionals from roofing, cladding, or building-material manufacturers.
- Roofing subcontractors or installers with strong commercial experience.
- Roofing surveyors, estimators, or commercially focused contracts managers.
- Building-products sales professionals with established construction-sector relationships.

Experience within commercial roofing, refurbishment, or flat-roofing would be particularly advantageous.
You will be commercially driven, confident developing new relationships, and comfortable operating in a field-based business-development role.
