Business Development Manager – Construction
Location: London
Salary: Basic to £65,000, OTE £85,000 + Car / Car Allowance, Pension and Benefits

About the Role
Are you a target-driven sales professional with a passion for the construction sector? On behalf of our client, we are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager (BDM) to spearhead growth across London, within the M25.
Acting as the principal face of the business, you will identify new market opportunities, manage a robust sales pipeline, and sell a comprehensive portfolio of technical compliance services. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with internal technical teams, marketing, and a dedicated telesales advisor to drive sustainable, profitable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive Revenue: Achieve regional sales and revenue targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Lead Generation: Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities through proactive market research, networking, and industry outreach.
- Client Relationship Management: Build strong, long-term relationships with key accounts, main contractors, and developers, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Sales Delivery: Create and deliver compelling commercial proposals, lead contract negotiations, and present pitches to senior decision-makers.
- Technical Presentations & CPDs: Deliver approved corporate presentations and CPD seminars to educate clients on industry updates and service offerings.
- CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and performance metrics using CRM systems.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside internal sales executives and support/line-manage a telesales advisor to ensure seamless account handovers and pipeline growth.
What We Are Looking For
- Construction Knowledge: A solid understanding of the UK construction industry, with a willingness to keep pace with evolving Building Regulations.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in business development, field sales, or account management (either face-to-face or via high-level telephone sales).
- Commercial Acumen: Strong market awareness, excellent negotiation skills, and a strategic approach to closing deals.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the confidence to deliver engaging seminars to industry professionals.
- Key Attributes: Self-motivated, resilient, highly organised, and comfortable working autonomously under pressure to meet targets.
- Mobility: A valid UK driving licence is essential, as this role requires regular regional travel and occasional nationwide travel to support national accounts.
