Business Development Manager

Location: Birmingham / Field-Based/ Flexibility with Home Working
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE
Package: Company Car, Mobile Phone & Uncapped Bonus
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About the Company

Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturer within the packaging sector, providing a wide range of packaging solutions including corrugated packaging, stretch packaging and bespoke packaging products to customers across a variety of industries. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and ambitious Business Development Manager to join their successful sales team.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives on developing relationships, growing existing accounts and winning new business. The position offers a balanced mix of account management and business development, with responsibility for managing an established customer base whilst identifying and securing new opportunities. Unlike many sales roles, this position is heavily focused on customer relationships and revenue generation. Internal teams will handle quotations, order processing and administration, allowing you to concentrate on building and developing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within target markets.
  • Conduct customer meetings and site visits.
  • Develop strategic account growth plans.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
  • Deliver high levels of customer service and account support.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer experience.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets.

About You

  • Proven experience within a Business Development, Area Sales, Account Management or Field Sales role.
  • Experience within the packaging industry is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of corrugated packaging, stretch packaging or related packaging products would be advantageous.
  • Strong new business and account development skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and target-driven.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to sales.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
