Business Development Manager – Construction / Civil Engineering

Location: Glasgow (Scotland-based with UK travel)
Client: Civil Engineering Contractor – Pre-Construction Team

We're working with a growing civil engineering contractor in Glasgow that is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to join its Pre-Construction team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional already working within the construction industry, who is looking to take on a broader role with a specialist civil engineering and infrastructure contractor.

We are open to candidates from across the construction sector, including those currently working in civil engineering, consultancy, building, or related construction environments. What matters most is your ability to build strong client relationships, identify and develop opportunities, and help convert those opportunities into secured work.

You will be involved throughout the early stages of the project lifecycle, working closely with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to understand requirements, identify opportunities, and position the business for future growth. The role will involve regular travel across Scotland and the wider UK for client meetings, networking events, and industry engagements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
