Business Development Manager – Life Sciences Production Solutions
Europe | Remote | International Travel
Mackinnon Bruce are partnered with a global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality products and solutions supporting the Life Sciences and Biopharmaceutical industries. With an established international presence, the organisation provides a broad portfolio of technologies used across research, development and production environments, supporting customers as they scale from laboratory workflows into larger-scale manufacturing and production applications.
As part of continued growth across Europe, we are looking to speak with an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the development of new and existing business opportunities across the region.
This is a highly customer-facing position focused on identifying, developing and securing profitable opportunities, working closely with customers to understand their technical and commercial requirements and delivering solutions aligned with their production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the European Life Sciences and Biopharmaceutical markets.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans across new and existing customer accounts.
- Build a strong understanding of customer processes, technical requirements and commercial objectives to identify appropriate solutions.
- Promote a broad portfolio of products and technical solutions to both prospective and existing customers.
- Develop long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders and position the organisation as a trusted commercial and technical partner.
- Manage opportunities throughout the full sales cycle, from initial identification and qualification through to negotiation and closing.
- Negotiate pricing, volumes and wider contractual terms to secure profitable business.
- Work closely with customers to align expectations with internal manufacturing and operational capabilities.
- Develop tailored presentations and commercial materials based on individual customer requirements and applications.
- Maintain regular contact with existing customers to maximise account penetration, customer retention and long-term revenue growth.
- Gather market, customer and competitor intelligence to support wider sales, marketing and technical strategies.
- Provide customer and market information to support short and long-term sales forecasting and business planning.
- Support existing customers with commercial matters relating to logistics, qualification and contractual requirements.
- Keep customers informed of portfolio developments, product changes and new offerings.
- Work collaboratively across multiple countries and internal functions to provide a consistent approach to customers throughout Europe.

Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree within a technical, scientific, engineering or related discipline.
- Significant experience within a customer-facing commercial, sales or business development position.
- Previous experience within Life Sciences, Biopharmaceutical Production, Bioprocessing or a related technical market would be highly advantageous.
- Experience working with technical products, technologies or solutions within a production or manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
- Demonstrable ability to identify, develop and close complex business opportunities.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience negotiating pricing and contractual terms.
- Ability to understand customer technical requirements and communicate complex solutions effectively.
- Experience developing relationships with customers across multiple countries and cultures.
- Strong presentation, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with international trade terms would be advantageous.
- Fluent English is required, with additional European language capabilities highly beneficial.
- Comfortable working independently within a remote, internationally focused position.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout Europe.

Location & Travel
This is a remote position covering customers across Europe, with significant travel expected throughout the region. The position can be based in several European countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain or Poland, with proximity to a major international airport strongly preferred.
