Leading Fintech Business Seeks German-Speaking BDM

Leading Fintech business seeks highly accomplished, German speaking Business Development Manager (BDM) to sell high value subscription offering to a leading EU community. This is a highly unique opportunity –

The BDM will be entitled to earn 50% of any deal they close….yes 50%. With an average price point of £7500 this is an extremely lucrative opportunity!

About the Role

Due to ongoing growth our client is now looking for an experienced German speaking Business Development Manager to join their team. This is a very strategically important role focused on securing membership sales for their fast-growing business in the payments/ tech industry.

Reporting to the Head of Sales, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for selling membership to companies in the banking, payments, FinTech and PayTech sectors. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in association membership(subscriptions), event or conference sponsorship sales gained within a financial or technology environment.

They will be self-motivated, target-oriented, ready to leap straight in and will be an effective team player. The role will require an intelligent, insight-led sales approach to the levels of membership and the suite of sponsorship opportunities, considering the potential to cross-sell between products.

Responsibilities

  • Securing membership revenues in line with the business needs and personal sales targets
  • Generating new business, qualifying strategic selling opportunities and target market/clients
  • Generating sales through development and maintenance of tactical and strategic relationships with clients
  • Understanding your client’s explicit business needs and requirements in a fast-moving market is essential to the role, and therefore you will need to keep up to date with industry news and trends and apply your consultative sales skills to ensure we offer the most suitable solutions to each client
  • Conducting on-going sales activity and close via telephone, as well as face to face
  • Producing quality proposals and contracts to aid the sales process, providing innovative solutions based upon a deep understanding of product offering
  • Exploring new commercial opportunities, product development and new revenue lines to optimise revenue performance across the business.
  • Supporting and working in collaboration with the Marketing, Conference Production, Member Engagement, Operations, Project and Finance teams and proactively participating in other areas whenever relevant
  • Having and helping drive a consultative sales approach across the team
  • Helping deliver a high performing sales culture within the team that meets the KPIs agreed
  • Managing own sales pipeline and database – overall responsibility for updating and maintaining sales related data
  • Developing key accounts and existing client relationships, identifying and converting opportunities to cross/up-sell
  • Attending key competitor events

At least 3 years’ sales or business development experience in B2B media, events or publishing in the financial services or technology industry

Required Skills

  • Fluent in German and English – Spanish a major advantage too but not a deal breaker.
  • A “hunter” mentality and approach to sales
  • Self-motivated and target-oriented approach with the desire to achieve KPI's and financial rewards
  • Exceptional track record of hitting KPI’s both performance based and revenue generation
  • Articulate, driven and professional approach, with the ability to communicate, pitch comfortably and connect with senior clients and prospects
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Excellent written communication and the ability to write creative commercial benefit-led proposals
  • Experienced at building and maintaining relationships with organisations, including member networks and other industry associations
  • Experienced at working with project, marketing and content colleagues to support both the internal and external storytelling of the association’s efforts
