Business Development Manager
Parents Booking (Netmedia Ltd) - Remote (Scotland-based preferred)
About Us
Parents Booking is a specialist SaaS platform trusted by over 4,000 schools worldwide to manage parents' evening scheduling, wraparound childcare booking, events, clubs, trips, and payments. For almost 20 years, our made-for-purpose tools have helped schools improve parental engagement, attendance, and increase revenue. We work closely with schools, local authorities, and multi-academy trusts, and we're constantly improving our products based on real feedback from the people using them.
We're a small, family-run business with deep roots in education - Netmedia was founded by a family with firsthand experience of the parent-engagement challenges schools face.
The Role
We're hiring a Business Development Manager to manage Parents Booking's sales function. Reporting to the Director, you'll principally be responsible for generating new business, from first contact through to close and renewal. We're happy for this role to be fully remote, though we'd ideally like someone based in Scotland.
What You'll Do
- Generate and qualify sales leads through outbound and inbound channels - email campaigns, phone outreach, and digital marketing enquiries
- Conduct customer discovery calls and needs assessments
- Prepare and deliver product demonstrations, remotely and in person
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and contract documentation, and negotiate terms within agreed parameters
- Close sales and progress opportunities through our pipeline, keeping accurate CRM records
- Identify and pursue cross-sell and upsell opportunities with existing customers, including renewal negotiations
- Represent Parents Booking at trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, and other events
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in schools, local authorities, and multi-academy trusts
- Work with our marketing team to develop and refine sales collateral, campaigns, and messaging
- Provide regular sales reporting, forecasting, and pipeline updates
- Keep up to date with our product offering, sector developments, and competitor activity

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
