Business Development Manager | Electronics Manufacturing

We are working with a well-established, owner-managed electronics manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager.

This is a genuine new-business role focused on identifying, developing and winning new OEM customers. You will take ownership of opportunities from initial prospecting through to contract award, before transitioning new customers into the Key Account Management team.

The company is looking for someone who can operate with autonomy, open doors and build credible relationships.

The Role

  • Identify and target new OEM customers across the UK.
  • Take ownership of the sales process from initial contact through to contract award.
  • Generate new opportunities through networking, referrals, industry contacts, LinkedIn, telephone and face-to-face activity.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Understand customers’ technical, commercial and manufacturing requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering, production and commercial teams throughout the quotation and sales process.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders across engineering, procurement, operations and senior management.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, networking events and relevant industry exhibitions.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager and Key Account Management team to ensure a smooth handover of new customers.
  • Bring new ideas to the table and help shape the company’s new-business strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
