Freelance Business Development & Sales Lead - Prenatal & Women's Health Diagnostics (UK & Ireland)

About the Opportunity

An innovative international molecular diagnostics company is seeking an experienced Freelance Business Development & Sales Lead to establish and grow its presence across the UK & Ireland.

This is a self-employed/contractor position ideally suited to a commercially driven individual with strong healthcare networks and experience selling into women's health, reproductive health, genetic testing, or diagnostic markets.

The successful candidate will take ownership of market development, customer acquisition, partnership building, and long-term commercial strategy. There is significant opportunity to shape the business locally and build a sustainable revenue stream.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a long-term commercial strategy for the UK & Ireland market.
  • Identify key stakeholders, target accounts, and growth opportunities.
  • Build relationships with healthcare professionals, clinics, laboratories, and strategic partners.
  • Expand distribution channels and referral networks.
  • Drive new business development activities and manage the full sales cycle.
  • Deliver product presentations, training sessions, and educational events.
  • Maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor developments, and emerging opportunities.
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.

Requirements

  • Proven success in healthcare, diagnostics, life sciences, medical device, or biotechnology sales.
  • Strong business development and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate revenue and develop new markets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong understanding of the private healthcare landscape within the UK & Ireland.
  • Experience engaging with clinicians, laboratories, healthcare providers, or medical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in prenatal testing, reproductive health, women's health, oncology, diagnostics, or molecular biology.
  • Scientific or medical education (Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, or related discipline).
  • Existing network within private healthcare, fertility, obstetrics, gynaecology, or laboratory markets.
  • Experience launching or scaling healthcare products within a new territory.
