Blue Legal are partnered with a leading international law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development & Marketing Manager to join their London office on a Maternity Cover basis.
As a Business Development and Marketing Manager, you are responsible for managing marketing and business development projects, executing sophisticated events both in person and online and assisting in the production of marketing materials in the London office.
The Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain trusted, strategic relationships with firm leadership, attorneys, and business professionals by demonstrating sound judgment, executive presence, and a balanced approach of confidence, tact, patience, and persistence.
- Provide high-level analytical insight and business judgment to guide decision-making, improve processes, and align marketing and event initiatives with broader firm goals.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of London events—virtual and in-person—ensuring operational excellence across all logistics, including invitation strategy, attendee management, presentation materials, branding, venue setup, and onsite staffing.
- Lead the development and distribution of internal and external communications related to events, sponsorships, and marketing initiatives, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment.
- Support and oversee legal directory submissions, coordinating input, managing updates, tracking referee responses, and promoting ranking results.
- Oversee participation in conferences and industry events, negotiating sponsorship packages, optimizing benefits for maximum visibility, and managing deliverables such as invitations, advertising, attorney materials, and branded collateral.
- Serve as the primary point of leadership-level coordination between attorneys, business professional teams, and external vendors, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality outcomes.
- Oversee the creation and strategic refinement of pitches, proposals, and credential statements, guiding team members and ensuring materials align with Firm positioning and client needs.
- Successfully manage multiple Marketing and Business Development projects simultaneously while meeting stakeholder expectations.

The Candidate:

- Educated to degree level, preferably in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
- 7 years+ experience within a similar role at a law firm, with at least two of these years as a manager.
- Strong organizational, communication and writing skills and a capacity to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment on multiple ongoing projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Experience managing Zoom events including breakout rooms, polls etc preferred.
- Experience using Vuture or similar e-marketing tools.
- Experience with CRM and experience management system preferred.
- Ability to work extended hours, as needed, in particular to help cover evening events.
- Highly motivated self-starter, highly organized team-player who can work with limited supervision.
- User-friendly, highly responsive, and hands-on project management style.
- Sound judgment, ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive issues, strong professional and ethical standards.
