Overview

The Business Development Officer of Financial Institutions Group will be responsible for marketing Repurchase Agreements (repo) and corresponding banking services to external sourced prospects throughout the Renasant Banks footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities and consistently increase the number of profitable financial institution clients participating in the repo program
  • Perform and manage sales and marketing activities of the Repo program with financial institutions within a defined geographic area. Financial institutions that fall outside of the defined geographic area will require approval from the Director of the Financial Institutions Group prior to any calling efforts.
  • Develop a strategic and actionable business development plan which will include lead generation strategies, calling efforts, travel and details on state banking association meeting attendance
  • Leverage internal and external referral sources for lead generation
  • Support external marketing of some other specialized Correspondent Banking and Park Place Capital product offerings within the Renasant geographic banking footprint
  • Create and maintain a culture of operational excellence compliant with corporate objectives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma (or equivalent) with equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in financial services industry
  • Extensive knowledge of financial institutions, financial services, fiduciary products, services, policies and procedures, operations, and compliance regulations
  • Results-oriented and strong ability to deliver to aggressive financial and business growth targets and strategic initiatives
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good knowledge of all banking functions and related operations, bank policies, procedures and applicable Federal and State Banking regulations
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate and coach others
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a variety of business contacts, all bank personnel as well as bank customers and prospective customers
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to make key complex decisions independently and with clear thinking and sound logic
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel. This may include use of the employee’s personal vehicle
