BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PARTNER

Trainer Capability Assurance Service
Commission Only | UK Based | Remote

About Garvey Knowledge Group

Garvey Knowledge Group has developed a new Trainer Capability Assurance service designed to help organisations independently assess trainer capability before trainers are submitted to clients, approved as associates, or deployed into delivery. Our aim is simple: Help organisations make better, evidence-based decisions about trainer readiness while reducing risk and increasing confidence.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is not a traditional sales role. We are looking for an entrepreneurial business development professional who wants to help build a new service from the ground up. You will have the opportunity to help shape:

  • Market approach
  • Target sectors
  • Sales strategy
  • Prospect engagement
  • Customer acquisition

Rather than being handed a rigid script and sales target, we are looking for someone who enjoys creating opportunities, opening doors and helping build something from an early stage.

The successful individual will work directly with the founder and have significant influence over how the business develops commercially.

YOUR ROLE

You will be responsible for:

  • Identifying suitable target organisations
  • Researching decision-makers
  • Opening commercial conversations
  • Generating interest in the service
  • Qualifying opportunities
  • Booking meetings with prospective clients
  • Supporting pilot discussions where appropriate
  • Feeding market insight back into the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This role is focused on generating opportunities and building relationships.

All service delivery, proposals, assessments and client implementation will be handled by Garvey Knowledge Group.

TYPICAL TARGET ORGANISATIONS

Our ideal clients are organisations that recruit, approve, onboard or deploy trainers. Examples include:

  • Training providers
  • Apprenticeship providers
  • Learning & Development consultancies
  • Organisations using associate trainers
  • Organisations using freelance trainers
  • Recruitment agencies specialising in trainer recruitment
  • Organisations delivering commercial or funded training

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're far more interested in attitude, initiative and commercial thinking than a specific sales background.

You may come from:

  • Recruitment
  • Learning & Development
  • Training services
  • Apprenticeship provision
  • Professional services
  • B2B sales
  • Business development

You will ideally be:

  • Self-motivated
  • Comfortable approaching senior decision-makers
  • Organised and proactive
  • Entrepreneurial in your thinking
  • Capable of working independently
  • Interested in helping shape a growing service rather than simply following a script

COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE

This is a commission-only opportunity. Commission is paid on revenue received from clients introduced directly by you. The structure currently includes:

  • Pilot Engagements - A percentage of pilot revenue generated.
  • Ongoing Retainers - A percentage of recurring retainer revenue for an agreed period following successful client acquisition.

WHY THIS ROLE MAY APPEAL

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys building opportunities rather than maintaining existing accounts.

You will have the freedom to:

  • Develop your own approach
  • Test ideas
  • Explore opportunities
  • Help shape how the service is taken to market

Whilst this is commission-only initially, the intention is to build long-term commercial relationships with the right people as the business grows.

APPLICATION

Please send:

  1. A brief summary of your background including any experience in recruitment, training, L&D, apprenticeships or professional services
  2. Examples of how you would identify and approach potential clients
  3. Why this opportunity interests you
  4. Please answer the following: If this was your business and you needed to secure the first paying client within the next 60 days, what would you do?

We're interested in practical thinking, initiative and commercial creativity more than polished sales language.

ABOUT THE SERVICE

Trainer Capability Assurance helps organisations submit, approve and deploy trainers with greater confidence through structured, independent capability assessment and recommendation reporting.

Evidence. Confidence. Reduced Risk.
