About SayAfter
SayAfter is The Family Storytelling App. We help families capture the stories behind their moments so they can be shared with children, grandchildren and future generations.
A picture captures a moment. SayAfter captures the stories behind the moments.
Through photos, video, audio and written memories, SayAfter gives people a simple way to preserve personal stories, family history and meaningful memories in one place.
We are an early stage UK startup developing relationships with organisations that support families and communities, including charities, hospices, healthcare organisations, funeral providers and other potential strategic and commercial partners.
As SayAfter continues to grow, we are now looking for someone to help us significantly expand our B2B outreach and partnership activity across the United States and United Kingdom.
The Role
We are looking for a part time Business Development & Partnerships Consultant to work directly with Adam, SayAfter's Founder.
This is a flexible, fully remote consultancy position rather than a full time sales role.
Our primary focus for this role is developing new opportunities within the United States, while continuing to identify and develop suitable opportunities across the United Kingdom.
There will also be scope to explore other international markets where a strong opportunity exists.
You will be responsible for identifying organisations that could benefit from working with SayAfter, finding the right people within those organisations and starting genuine conversations with them.
We are not looking for somebody to simply build large lead lists or send hundreds of generic cold emails.
We want someone who can understand SayAfter, identify where genuine opportunities exist, communicate our story naturally and build relationships with potential partners.
You will be encouraged to start and develop conversations yourself through LinkedIn, email and other appropriate channels.
Once a genuine opportunity has been identified and qualified, your objective will be to arrange a meeting with Adam, SayAfter's Founder, who will become involved in demonstrations, commercial discussions and more developed partnership conversations.
Responsibilities
- Research potential B2B partners and business development opportunities, with a particular focus on the US and UK markets
- Identify relevant decision makers and stakeholders within target organisations
- Research organisations before approaching them and understand why SayAfter could be relevant to their customers, members, patients, families or communities
- Start and develop conversations through LinkedIn, email and other appropriate channels
- Communicate the SayAfter proposition naturally and professionally
- Build genuine relationships with prospective partners
- Follow up consistently with potential partners and maintain momentum in conversations
- Qualify potential commercial and partnership opportunities
- Arrange qualified meetings between relevant decision makers and SayAfter's Founder
- Maintain a clear and organised pipeline of prospects, conversations, meetings and opportunities
- Identify new sectors, organisations and routes to market for SayAfter
- Support the progression of opportunities from initial outreach through to potential B2B partnerships and commercial agreements
- Provide regular insight into which sectors, messages and approaches are generating the strongest response
- Work independently and proactively to create new opportunities for the business

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Who We're Looking For
You may have experience in sales, business development, lead generation, partnerships, account management or another commercially focused role.
Your specific industry background is less important to us than your ability to research effectively, communicate naturally and confidently start conversations with the right people.
You should have:
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong research skills
- Confidence using LinkedIn for business development and relationship building
- Experience identifying and approaching relevant decision makers
- Confidence starting and developing B2B conversations
- Strong organisation and follow up skills
- An understanding of relationship led business development rather than aggressive sales techniques
- The ability to understand a product and communicate its value clearly
- The confidence to hold initial conversations with prospective partners before introducing qualified opportunities to the Founder
- The ability to work independently within an early stage startup environment
Experience working with organisations in the United States or United Kingdom would be particularly valuable.
Previous experience within healthcare, charities, hospices, funeral services, technology, SaaS, consumer apps or other relevant sectors would also be beneficial, but is not essential.
Consultancy Arrangement
This is initially a part time, fully remote consultancy role.
Our initial base consultancy budget is approximately £250 to £400 per month, depending on experience, availability and the proposed level of involvement.
We are deliberately not prescribing a fixed number of working hours.
Instead, we would like applicants to tell us what level of time and activity they could realistically commit within this budget and what they believe they could deliver.
We are interested in results rather than simply measuring hours worked.
The monthly consultancy fee is intended to be the base element of the overall earning opportunity.
In addition to the agreed monthly consultancy fee, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to earn additional performance based incentives for successful business development activity.
These incentives may include bonuses linked to:
- Qualified B2B meetings generated and attended
- B2B partnerships and commercial agreements secured
- Licences, memberships or units sold through resulting partnerships
- Other measurable commercial results directly resulting from the consultant's business development activity
The exact incentive structure will be agreed with the successful candidate and may vary depending on the type, size and commercial value of each opportunity.

This means that someone who consistently generates genuine commercial opportunities and results for SayAfter will have the opportunity to earn significantly more than the advertised monthly base consultancy fee.
As SayAfter grows, there will also be scope for the role, responsibilities, base consultancy fee and overall earning potential to grow.
What Success Looks Like
This is a results focused role.
The primary initial measure of success will be the number and quality of qualified B2B meetings generated and booked with Adam, SayAfter's Founder, involving relevant decision makers from organisations that represent a genuine potential partnership or commercial opportunity.
Beyond meetings, success will ultimately be measured by the commercial results generated from those relationships.
This includes:
- Qualified B2B meetings booked and attended
- Genuine partnership opportunities created
- Opportunities progressing beyond the initial meeting
- B2B partnerships and contracts secured
- Licences, memberships or units sold through resulting partnerships
- Development of a healthy and sustainable pipeline across the US and UK markets
We are not interested in measuring success simply by the number of emails sent, LinkedIn connections made or names added to a spreadsheet.
We want someone who can turn research into outreach, outreach into conversations, conversations into meetings and meetings into commercial opportunities.
For someone who can consistently achieve that, there is significant scope to increase their earnings and grow their position within SayAfter.
Why Join SayAfter?
SayAfter is at an early stage, which means this is an opportunity to become involved while the company and its partnership strategy are still developing.
You will work directly with the Founder and have considerable freedom to identify opportunities, test different approaches and help shape how SayAfter develops its B2B presence internationally.
This could suit an experienced business development professional looking for a flexible consultancy alongside existing commitments, or an ambitious salesperson who wants the opportunity to demonstrate what they can achieve within an early stage company.
For the right person, this has the potential to become a considerably larger role as SayAfter grows.
When Applying
Please include:
- Your proposed monthly consultancy fee
- Approximately how much time you would be able to commit each month for that fee
- Your experience in sales, partnerships, lead generation or business development
- Any experience working with organisations in the United States or United Kingdom
- Examples of previous outreach, meetings generated, partnerships secured or commercial results where possible
- A short explanation of how you would approach generating B2B partnership opportunities for SayAfter
We are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate that they know how to turn cold prospects into genuine conversations, qualified meetings and ultimately commercial relationships.
