Business Development & Partnerships Manager

Castle Craig is seeking a commercially minded and relationship-focused professional to join our team as Business Development & Partnerships Manager.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Hospital Director, CFO, Help Centre Lead, and Marketing & Communications team, the Business Development & Partnerships Manager will lead the development and management of private referral and insurer relationships while providing oversight of commercial performance across enquiry handling and admissions conversion.

This is a highly visible role that will play a key part in supporting Castle Craig’s continued growth by strengthening referral partnerships, increasing private admissions, and ensuring opportunities are identified, measured, and acted upon.

About Castle Craig Hospital

Founded in 1988, Castle Craig is a leading provider of addiction treatment and mental health care and is internationally recognised for its specialist expertise in the treatment of addiction.

Set within 50 acres of private woodland in the beautiful Scottish Borders, Castle Craig provides residential treatment for up to 82 patients and supports individuals across the UK and internationally through its wider network of treatment and recovery services.

Our treatment programme combines evidence-based therapies with our internationally recognised 12 Step-informed approach, helping patients achieve lasting recovery in a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment. For more than three decades, we have supported thousands of individuals and families in rebuilding their lives through compassionate, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

Private Referrer and Insurer Relationships

  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with private referrers, consultants, healthcare professionals, and insurance companies across the group.
  • Identify and develop new referral sources to support sustainable growth in private admissions.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all relationship activity, contacts, and outcomes within the CRM system.
  • Organise and host visits to Castle Craig for referrers and insurers, acting as an ambassador for the organisation and its services.
  • Assume ownership of existing referrer and insurer relationships and ensure every partnership has clear accountability and proactive management.
  • Represent Castle Craig at networking events, conferences, and industry meetings where appropriate.

Commercial Oversight of Enquiry Handling

  • Monitor and analyse key business development metrics, including enquiry volumes, referral sources, insurer activity, conversion rates, and admissions performance.
  • Review monthly performance and CRM reports and present findings at performance and data meetings.
  • Investigate trends in enquiry and admissions activity, identifying opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Help Centre team to ensure enquiries from referrers and insurers are managed promptly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Make recommendations to improve conversion performance and client experience throughout the admissions journey.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
