Business Development - Payment (Global)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development - Payment (Global) based in the United Kingdom.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of digital payments by expanding innovative financial solutions across global markets.

  • You will drive strategic partnerships with merchants, payment providers, and financial institutions to accelerate adoption and business growth.
  • Working in a fast-paced international environment, you will combine commercial expertise, market knowledge, and relationship-building skills to create impactful collaborations.
  • The position requires ownership of the full business development lifecycle, from prospecting and negotiation to integration and long-term partnership management.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop market strategies, optimize payment solutions, and unlock new opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Identify, develop, and scale strategic partnerships with payment service providers, acquirers, financial institutions, and high-volume merchants across priority markets.
  • Own the complete enterprise business development cycle, including prospecting, outreach, presentations, commercial negotiations, contract discussions, onboarding coordination, and integration execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers to establish long-term strategic collaborations.
  • Develop regional expansion strategies focused on high-impact industries such as gaming, e-commerce, digital services, trading platforms, travel services, and emerging payment sectors.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Integration, and regional teams to create effective go-to-market initiatives and improve partner adoption.
  • Analyze merchant performance, partnership data, and market trends to optimize commercial strategies, improve profitability, and maximize ecosystem growth.
  • Monitor competitive developments, regulatory changes, and market opportunities to refine business strategies and identify new growth areas.
  • Track and deliver against key performance indicators, including partnership growth, merchant acquisition, onboarding objectives, and transaction volume expansion.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in enterprise-level business development, partnerships, or strategic sales, with the ability to manage complex negotiations and engage with senior executives.
  • Strong professional network within payment service providers, acquirers, payment processors, financial institutions, or related fintech ecosystems.
  • Experience operating in regulated industries and understanding compliance, risk, and reputational considerations when structuring partnerships.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a proven ability to execute in fast-growing, international, and expansion-focused environments.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills with a results-oriented approach.
  • Analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret business data, identify opportunities, and translate insights into scalable growth strategies.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive initiatives from concept to execution.
  • Fluency in English is required for collaboration with global stakeholders; additional languages are considered an advantage.
  • Experience in blockchain, cryptocurrency, fintech, payments, or digital commerce is highly beneficial.
