An established global technology and manufacturing organisation is seeking a driven Business Development Representative to join its commercial team. Operating internationally and recognised for innovation within engineering and industrial markets, the business supplies advanced technology solutions to customers across manufacturing, aerospace, electronics, medical devices and precision engineering sectors.
Your new role
As a Business Development Representative, you will play a key role in driving new business growth across the UK market. This is a consultative sales position focused on building relationships with technical decision-makers, understanding client challenges and creating opportunities for the field sales team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting outbound business development activities via phone, email and professional networking platforms
- Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities within target industries
- Engaging with manufacturing, engineering, laboratory and quality professionals
- Understanding customer needs and uncovering opportunities for technical solutions
- Arranging product demonstrations and consultations for field-based sales colleagues
- Collaborating closely with territory managers to ensure a smooth transition of opportunities
- Maintaining accurate pipeline and CRM records

What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in business development, sales development, lead generation, telesales or inside sales
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and technical professionals
- A consultative and commercially focused approach
- Strong resilience, drive and motivation to achieve targets
- Experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial or technical sectors would be advantageous
