Terra Industries

Terra Industries is a defense technology company building autonomous security systems that protect critical infrastructure across Africa and the Global South. Founded in 2024, we design and manufacture the full stack: the Archer VTOL long-range surveillance drone, the Iroko quadcopter, the Duma autonomous ground vehicle, the Kallon solar-powered AI sentry tower, and ArtemisOS, the AI operating system that brings data intelligence and autonomy to all of it. Our systems are already deployed protecting power plants, mines, and other nationally critical assets valued at approximately $11 billion across multiple countries.

In August 2026, we extended our seed round to $52 million from 8VC, Silent Ventures, Nova Global, Belief Capital, SV Angel, and Norleo Space Investments. We are expanding globally while keeping manufacturing in Africa: the 15,000 sq. ft. Pax-1 flagship in Abuja, Nigeria, and Pax-2 in Accra, Ghana, which, at 34,000 sq. ft., will be the largest drone factory on the continent and is targeting 50,000 units a year across our aerial portfolio by 2028. Expansion is planned across the Gulf, South America, and South Asia.

We're a small team working at the intersection of hard technology and security. We move quickly, we give people real ownership early, and we expect them to run with it.

The Role

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We're hiring a Business Development Representative (U.S.-based remote candidates considered) to build and run the top of Terra's commercial pipeline. You'll identify and qualify leads across energy, mining, telecommunications, and other critical infrastructure operators — the buyers most exposed to the physical security threats our systems are built for — and hand off qualified opportunities to the leadership team to close.

This is Terra's first dedicated commercial prospecting hire. You'll set the initial playbook for how we find, qualify, and prioritize buyers in these sectors, working closely with the founder and leadership team rather than inside an established sales org.

What You'll Do

  • Build and continuously refine target account lists across energy, mining, telecom, and critical-infrastructure operators in our priority markets (Africa, the Gulf, and expansion geographies)
  • Research and map buying committees at target accounts — security, operations, and procurement stakeholders — to identify the right entry point
  • Run outbound outreach (email, LinkedIn, calls, and industry events) to generate initial conversations with prospective buyers
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads against clear criteria (asset value at risk, budget authority, timeline, regulatory context) before handing off to leadership
  • Maintain a clean, current pipeline and reporting cadence — logging activity, tracking conversion at each stage, and flagging patterns back to the team
  • Attend relevant industry conferences and trade shows to build relationships and source new leads
  • Iterate the qualification playbook as we learn what separates a real buyer from a tire-kicker in these sectors

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience in a sales development, business development, or commercial research role — ideally with exposure to industrial, infrastructure, energy, mining, telecom, or defense buyers
  • Comfortable with outbound prospecting and cold outreach; not reliant on inbound lead flow
  • Able to research and understand a technical product and a buyer's operating context well enough to hold a credible first conversation
  • High ownership and low need for supervision — this role has no existing playbook to follow on day one
  • Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable representing Terra to senior buyers at large industrial organizations
  • Experience working with an international client base, with preference for experience in Africa and/or the Global South
  • Willing to work from office location in London; open to US-based remote candidates for the right person
  • Genuine interest in defense, hard tech, or critical infrastructure.
