Business Development Representative
We are looking for a talented Business Development Representative to join our team specializing in Sales and Customer Support for our Sales Department in Wellingborough.
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the sales process from lead qualification through to order fulfilment, providing exceptional customer support and ensuring seamless coordination between customers, sales professionals, and internal teams. You will help drive customer satisfaction, sales effectiveness, and business growth through proactive account management and operational excellence.
This is a permanent role working Hybrid 3 days onsite 8.30am to 4.30pm. There will also be 5% domestic travel required to visit customers and Cummins sites.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Supporting the sales team throughout the entire sales cycle, from lead qualification to order completion.
- Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email, providing timely and professional support.
- Preparing accurate quotations by gathering technical specifications, pricing information, lead times, and customer requirements.
- Processing customer orders and issuing order acknowledgements, invoices, and shipping notifications.
- Communicating order progress, inventory levels, and delivery updates to customers and sales teams.
- Resolving customer issues and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure prompt and effective solutions.
- Monitoring inventory levels and supporting replenishment activities to maintain product availability.
- Driving proactive account management activities through quotation follow-up, sales analysis, and identification of growth opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting sales operations, order management, quotations, and customer account activities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and contribute to sales growth initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma, certificate of secondary education, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in sales support, customer service, inside sales, account coordination, or administrative support role preferred.
- Experience preparing quotations, processing customer orders, and supporting customer accounts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using SAP, CRM, ERP, or order management systems is advantageous.
