About Strengthscope®

At Strengthscope®, we help people perform at their best by understanding and using their strengths every day. For over two decades, we’ve supported global organisations, public sector bodies and growing businesses to build stronger leaders, more engaged teams and high-performing cultures through strengths-based development.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a curious, commercially minded Business Development Representative to create new business opportunities, manage smaller opportunities from first conversation to close, and help organisations solve real people and performance challenges.

Strengthscope is actively seeking to maintain and increase the diversity of our team and encourage candidates to apply if they meet even some of the criteria below. We value curiosity, ambition, resilience and potential just as much as previous experience.

What you’ll do

  • Research target organisations to understand business priorities, people challenges and strategic initiatives
  • Work closely with Marketing and the New Business Sales Manager to test target segments, refine messaging and improve campaign performance using data and prospect feedback
  • Identify and engage decision-makers across HR, Talent, L&D, Leadership Development and People functions
  • Run thoughtful multi-channel outreach across LinkedIn, email, phone, events and referrals, including follow-up on marketing-generated leads
  • Qualify opportunities through effective discovery conversations and book high-quality meetings for the New Business team
  • Own opportunities within the SMB market segment, from introductory meetings and product demonstrations through proposal and close
  • Develop tailored proposals aligned to client objectives and manage opportunities through the sales cycle
  • Close new business against an individual revenue target and ensure a smooth handover to delivery and customer success
  • Build deep expertise in strengths-based development, leadership, engagement and organisational performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who we’re looking for

We hire for potential as much as experience. You’ll likely thrive if you are:

  • Commercially motivated: you’re energised by targets, growth and ambitious outcomes
  • A strong communicator: you write clearly, professionally and persuasively, adapting your style to different audiences
  • Resilient and coachable: you learn from setbacks, seek feedback and keep developing your skills
  • Organised: you manage follow-up activity, CRM data and opportunity progression with discipline
  • Purpose-driven: you’re excited to help organisations create engaging, high-performing workplaces.

Experience we’d value

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a business development, sales or customer-facing commercial role
  • Experience prospecting through outbound channels such as LinkedIn, email and telephone
  • Experience managing a pipeline, progressing opportunities or building customer relationships
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM is helpful, but not essential.
