Role purpose
The Business Development Representative owns early-stage account engagement within FinReg-E's revenue operating model. The role is accountable for turning target-account strategy, campaigns, regulatory triggers, and inbound demand into qualified opportunities that Account Executives can progress.
The role works as part of one commercial system across Marketing, Business Development, Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success, Product, and RevOps. BDRs sit at the top of the Bow Tie with Marketing and create the handover into Sales through clear account fit, buyer relevance, and qualification evidence.
The first phase is hands-on. The priority is to build a disciplined outbound motion, learn which accounts and messages convert, and help turn that learning into a repeatable playbook.
Primary accountabilities
-
ICP and target-account execution
- Work a defined set of named accounts against FinReg-E's ICP, market segments, and buyer personas.
- Research target firms, regulatory footprint, likely buying groups, current initiatives, and relevant business triggers before outreach.
- Prioritise accounts by fit and timing rather than treating every prospect as equal.
-
Outbound engagement and pipeline creation
- Create qualified pipeline through phone, email, LinkedIn, events, and coordinated account-based plays.
- Build outreach around buyer problems, regulatory change, and account context rather than generic product messages.
- Own follow-up on agreed inbound and campaign responses within the required service level.
- Stay accountable for commercial progression, not activity volume alone.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
