Business Development Representative | Manufacturing Software
£35,000 - £40,000 + uncapped commission (OTE £65,000+)
Remote, Midlands preferred but not essential
Enjoy opening doors, getting decision makers talking and booking meetings that turn into real business?
Join a growing software business operating in a specialist manufacturing niche, where the conversations you start can lead to contracts worth millions of pounds.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious Business Development Representative who wants to understand what makes a prospect worth pursuing, build their sales skills and have a clear contribution to revenue.
The opportunity
You will work closely with an Account Executive to build a pipeline of new opportunities across UK manufacturing. Your focus will be on finding the right businesses, reaching the right people and giving them a compelling reason to meet.
There is existing data and historic interest to explore, alongside plenty of scope to identify fresh prospects and make your own approach. You will use cold calling and personalised outreach to uncover operational challenges, generate interest and book well-qualified meetings.
With complex sales cycles and substantial contract values, the quality of your discovery and qualification will make a real difference.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
