Job Summary
The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a vital role in driving new business by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers. This position is suited for someone with a proven track record in lead generation and outbound sales within a software or technology environment. This is a full-time hybrid position based in Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities through research, outbound email campaigns, calls, and social outreach.
  • Engage potential customers through cold outreach to build interest in the company’s software solutions.
  • Qualify prospects to ensure alignment with ideal customer profiles and readiness to engage in the buying process.
  • Conduct discovery calls to explore customer challenges, identify needs, and map solutions accordingly.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to execute targeted outreach strategies by industry, region, or vertical.
  • Maintain meticulous records of prospecting activities and pipeline progression in the CRM system.
  • Achieve or surpass monthly and quarterly performance targets for qualified opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date on product offerings, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Participate actively in ongoing sales training and development.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in B2B sales or business development.
  • Proven success in outbound prospecting and lead generation.
  • Experience with opportunity qualification, account development, and sales pipeline management.
  • Proficiency with HubSpot or other CRM platforms and modern sales engagement tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage multiple stakeholders in complex sales environments.
  • Understanding of SaaS sales dynamics and technology industry trends.
