About The Opportunity

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a crucial role at the start of the sales cycle, responsible for sourcing, qualifying, and generating new business through a variety of channels. As the first point of contact for many customers, they act as ambassadors for the company, working with prospects to understand their challenges and create value. As a Business Development Representative at Exclaimer, you'll sit at the front of our growth engine. You create pipeline. You open doors. You turn cold conversations into qualified opportunities.

We are looking for a hungry, ambitions individual who has as a passion for developing their sales attributes and start building the foundation for the long term career.

Key responsibilities

  • Generating new business opportunities through outbound activity including cold calling, email and LinkedIn outreach
  • Researching target accounts and identifying key decision-makers and influencers
  • Utilise multi-touch, multi-channel outreach sequences tailored to different personas and industries
  • Booking meetings with senior decision-makers using tools such as Nooks (parallel dialler)
  • Clearly articulating Exclaimer’s value proposition and qualifying interest
  • Handling objections confidently and professionally to progress conversations
  • Qualifying and following up inbound leads (MQLs) to assess fit, need and buying intent
  • Managing and maintaining accurate pipeline data within our CRM
  • Meeting and exceeding activity, meeting and pipeline generation targets
  • Working closely with Account Executives to ensure smooth handovers, strong qualification and clear context
  • Sharing feedback from prospects to help refine messaging positioning and product
  • Supporting the development of outbound strategy through testing messaging, experimenting with new approaches and contributing sales plays

Skills, knowledge, and expertise

  • Curious first mindset.
  • Confidence speaking to prospects over the phone and handling objections
  • Track record of being result driven and experience of achieving targets
  • A proactive approach to improving performance and developing your skills
  • Resilience and persistence, with the ability to bounce back quickly
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage your time effectively
  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity and outbound effectiveness
  • A genuine interest in building a long-term career in sales
