Business Development Executive / BDR

City of London | £42,500–£50,000 Base + 5% Uncapped Commission | OTE £110,000–£130,000 | 5 Days Office-Based

Already performing well in outbound sales but looking for significantly greater earning potential?

We’re partnering with a fast-growing specialist consultancy based in the heart of the City to hire an ambitious Business Development Executive to join its growing commercial team.

This is a genuine new-business role for someone with around 1–2 years’ sales experience who enjoys creating opportunities. You’ll be identifying prospective clients, getting senior decision-makers on the phone and turning initial conversations into qualified meetings for the wider Business Development team.

The earning potential is a major part of the opportunity: a £42,500–£50,000 base salary plus 5% uncapped commission, with OTE of approximately £110,000–£130,000. This is a fully office-based role, working five days per week from their City of London offices.

The Role

  • Run targeted outbound campaigns to generate new business opportunities.
  • Make high volumes of outbound calls and confidently engage prospective clients.
  • Use telephone, email, and LinkedIn to build and develop a strong pipeline.
  • Research target businesses and identify the right senior decision-makers to approach.
  • Build rapport quickly, create interest, and convert conversations into qualified meetings.
  • Take ownership of follow-up, ensuring opportunities continue to move forward.
  • Work towards and exceed weekly and monthly activity and meeting targets.
  • Maintain an accurate and well-managed pipeline through the CRM.
  • Work closely with Business Development and Marketing to refine targeting and messaging.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

You’ll ideally have around 1–2 years’ experience within a BDR, SDR, Business Development Executive, or similar outbound B2B sales role. Sector experience is flexible. • Comfortable creating opportunities from scratch rather than relying on inbound leads.
  • Articulate and able to engage senior business decision-makers.
  • Resilient, persistent, and able to maintain momentum when faced with rejection.
  • Commercially minded and naturally good at building rapport.
  • Target-driven and motivated by both results and earning potential.
