About HSI
HSI is a global leader in EHS and compliance training, workforce development, and workplace safety solutions. Our suite of brands and products empower organizations to create safer, smarter, and more compliant workplaces. With innovative technology and a passion for protecting people and businesses, we are growing rapidly across the EMEA region — and we want you to grow with us.
The Role
We are looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) who thrives on outbound prospecting. This is a purely outbound sales development role — your focus will be identifying, engaging, and creating opportunities with new prospects across the UK and Ireland. Our solutions are more complex than transactional SaaS, requiring detailed, discovery-driven cold calls with mid-senior stakeholders.
You'll be the first point of contact with potential customers, sparking conversations, building relationships, and booking qualified meetings that fuel our sales pipeline. If you're resilient, curious, and motivated by results, this role gives you the chance to make a direct impact and grow your career in SaaS sales.
What You'll Do
- Prospect Relentlessly: Research, identify, and reach out to new accounts across target industries.
- Outbound Outreach: Drive high-volume, high-quality prospecting through calls, email sequences, LinkedIn outreach, and event follow-up.
- Book Qualified Meetings: Uncover needs, qualify prospects, and schedule discovery calls and demos for Account Executives.
- Build Trust Early: Develop rapport with decision-makers, positioning HSI as a trusted partner for EHS and compliance solutions.
- Leverage Tools & Data: Use Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and intent data to prioritize and personalize outreach.
- Nurture & Re-Engage: Keep prospects engaged over time, re-ignite old opportunities, and create momentum in the pipeline.
- Collaborate with Sales & Marketing: Partner closely with AEs and Field Marketing to maximize campaign success and accelerate deals.
- Stay Organized & Accountable: Log all activities and progress in Salesforce to ensure accurate tracking and smooth handoffs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
