About Enzai
Enzai is a leading AI governance platform. We help large organisations know what AI they are running, get it approved properly, and keep it within the rules, whether that is the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF or their own internal policies. Our customers include Fortune 500 companies across financial services, insurance, retail and technology.
Our mission is to ensure that powerful AI technologies reach their true potential. We see a future where human progress is enabled and expedited in a positive way by these technologies, and we want to play our part in making that happen. Put simply, we help organisations maximise AI adoption while minimising AI risk.
We are headquartered in Belfast, with an office in London.
About the role
You will be our first in-house Business Development Representative, and the person who opens the conversations that become our pipeline. You will find the right people inside large enterprises, such as Heads of AI Governance, CISOs, Chief Risk Officers and Data Protection Officers, get their attention, and book meetings for our founders and commercial team.
AI governance is a young, fast-moving category. Many buyers are still working out what good looks like, and plenty have only just been handed the job. That makes this harder than a typical BDR seat, and a lot more interesting. There is no script to read from. You will need to understand the problem well enough to hold a real conversation with a senior risk or security leader.
You will not be starting from zero. You will get our target account lists, the angles that already work in our founder-led conversations, and weekly coaching on your calls and messaging. You will report to Helen Creaney and work directly with our founders. As a small team, we recognise the importance of collaboration, especially during the initial learning period, so we ask that you work from our central Belfast office during your ramp. Being alongside the team day to day is the quickest way to pick things up and see the impact of your work. Once you are up and running, there is flexibility to work from home two days a week depending on business needs.
Because you are the first, you will also help shape how outbound works here: who we go after, what we say, and which signals tell us an account is worth chasing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Many of our buyers are in the US and Europe, so expect some afternoons and early evenings calling into US time zones.
What you will do
- Research and prioritise target accounts using signals such as new AI governance hires, regulatory deadlines and company news
- Run multi-channel outbound across cold calling, email and LinkedIn
- Book first meetings with senior buyers for our founders and commercial team, and handle inbound leads
- Keep our CRM accurate so the pipeline tells the truth
- Test and refine messaging, and share what is working, and what is not, with the team each week
- Keep up with AI regulation and the governance market so you can speak credibly to the people you contact
What success looks like
We measure you on qualified meetings, not activity. A qualified meeting is a first meeting you booked with the right senior person at a target account, which has taken place and ended with a second meeting in the diary.
After a three-month ramp, the target is 4 qualified meetings a month. In practice that means booking around 10 to 12 first meetings a month with the right people. We will review the target with you after six months, based on what the data tells us.
What we are looking for
A genuine interest in AI governance. You care about the guardrails around AI and why they matter. You do not need to be an expert on day one, but you should want to become one.
- High agency. You are our first BDR, so you will often be working out how to do something for the first time. When something is missing or not working, you fix it or propose a better way, without waiting to be told.
- Curious and research-led. You are never satisfied with a surface-level answer. You dig into each account, work out what is driving it, and use that to start a conversation worth having.
- Comfortable calling senior people. You are happy to pick up the phone to a CISO or Chief Risk Officer you have never spoken to, and to keep going after hearing "no" far more often than "yes".
Who we would love to hear from
Experience in B2B sales is a plus, but it is not the deciding factor. What matters most is that you can show us you are coachable, curious and genuinely interested in why AI governance matters. That could mean you are:

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
- Working in B2B sales and want to move into one of the fastest-growing areas in tech
- A consultant looking for a faster pace and a role where you can see the direct impact of your work
- From a risk, compliance, privacy or security background and curious about the commercial side
Familiarity with the EU AI Act, ISO 42001 or NIST AI RMF, or with tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Clay or Lemlist, is a bonus but not essential. We will teach you the rest.
What we offer
- Base salary of £30-35k, depending on experience
- Uncapped commission paid on every qualified meeting, with a higher rate once you pass target and a bonus on every deal you source that closes. At target, total earnings are £43-48k
- A guaranteed floor during ramp, so the time it takes early meetings to convert does not come out of your pay
- A clear route into an Account Executive role, typically within 12 to 18 months for someone consistently at or above target
- Weekly coaching and an early seat in a category that is being defined right now, working directly with the founders
How to apply
Send your CV to helen.creaney@enz.ai, along with a short answer to this: Pick one company you think should be buying AI governance software right now. In a few sentences, tell us why now. Then write the first three lines of the email you would send to the person you would target there. It should take you about ten minutes. We are looking at your judgement and curiosity, not polish.
What to expect
We keep our process efficient and shape it around you. Every stage has a clear purpose, we move quickly between them, and you will always meet our founders before an offer. Along the way, we will want to see three things:
- How you think about an account. You will research a company and talk us through why it should be looking at AI governance now, and how you would get in.
- How you handle a real conversation. You will do a practice outbound call with one of the team. We are as interested in how you take feedback afterwards as in the call itself.
- Why this, and why now. What draws you to AI governance, and to being the first person in a role at an early-stage company.
If we want to go deeper on something, or you do, we will tell you what we are looking for and why.
