Business Development Representative IT Services
Location: Reading, Berkshire Office-based
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £26,000-£32,000 basic - Double OTE - Uncapped earning potential
Start Date: ASAP
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing global organisation specialising in business innovation and business change.
We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join a successful sales team and play a key role in generating new business opportunities.
If you have experience in B2B sales, business development, IT Services or Service Management, or you're looking to take the next step in your sales career, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.
You'll be working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment where your ability to build relationships, identify opportunities and engage with senior decision-makers will be highly valued.
The Role
As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for generating new sales opportunities and building a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Proactively identify and engage potential customers through outbound calling
- Follow up on marketing campaigns and qualify opportunities before passing them to the wider sales team
- Communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, including Directors, VPs and C-suite executives, and develop an understanding of their business challenges and requirements

This role would suit someone who is driven, resilient, commercially minded and motivated by achieving targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive outbound calling and prospecting.
- Follow up on marketing campaigns and engage with potential customers.
- Research and identify new prospects within target markets.
- Qualify leads and pass high-quality opportunities to the wider sales team.
- Engage confidently with senior decision-makers, including Directors, VPs and C-suite executives.
- Maintain accurate records of activity and opportunities using Salesforce CRM.
- Build and nurture relationships with prospective customers.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's products and services and communicate their value effectively.
- Identify opportunities for new campaigns and initiatives to increase lead generation.
- Work closely with the wider sales and marketing teams to maximise new business opportunities.
- Consistently work towards and achieve agreed activity and sales targets.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in Business Development, B2B Sales, Lead Generation or a similar role.
- Confidence and resilience when making outbound calls and prospecting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to engage effectively with senior business stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- A self-motivated approach and a proven ability to work towards targets.
- A high-energy, organised and resilient mindset.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Experience using a CRM system; Salesforce experience would be advantageous.
- A background in IT Services or Service Management is desirable but not essential.
