Are you passionate about building relationships and creating new business opportunities? Do you enjoy combining research, outreach, marketing and relationship building to turn great conversations into real opportunities?
eSynergy are seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to support business development activity across the organisation, working across our Marketing, Private Sector and Not-for-Profit & Social Impact teams.
This is a varied, cross-business role combining targeted business development, prospect research, campaign support, event engagement and relationship building.
You will work closely with Marketing and our sector leads to identify priority organisations and individuals, create relevant opportunities for engagement and develop relationships that ultimately contribute to eSynergy's commercial pipeline.
This isn't simply a high-volume outbound sales role. We are looking for someone who is curious, commercially minded and confident engaging senior stakeholders. You'll need to understand the organisations we want to work with, the challenges they face and how eSynergy's technology capabilities can help solve meaningful business problems.
Responsibilities: 🌟
- Work alongside the Marketing team to convert leads from campaigns, content, events and wider marketing activity into meaningful conversations and qualified opportunities.
- Generate new opportunities with senior technical buyers through targeted 1:1 outreach, networking, referrals.
- Research prospective organisations, sectors, decision-makers and market developments to identify relevant opportunities and create personalised approaches.
- Support sector leads with account planning, target account identification and coordinated engagement across strategic prospects.
- Assure data quality across our core database (Hubspot).
- Pair with sales team members and consultants to assure effective and timely follow-up of inbound enquiries, marketing-qualified leads, event attendees and other prospective client engagement.
- Support proposals, presentations, meetings and wider commercial activity as opportunities develop.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
