Role Description

The Business Development Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Ringwood, responsible for driving growth and building client relationships in the telecom and connectivity sector. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities
  • Generating leads through outbound and inbound channels
  • Conducting market research to understand customer needs and industry trends
  • Presenting tailored solutions in VoIP, broadband, and business connectivity
  • Preparing proposals and managing the sales pipeline from initial contact through to contract negotiation and closing
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate solution design
  • Supporting smooth onboarding for new clients
  • Maintaining ongoing communication to strengthen customer satisfaction and retention
  • Regular reporting on performance metrics, competitor insights, and potential areas for expansion

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills to build relationships, understand client needs, and provide clear, professional support.
  • Lead generation and market research skills to identify opportunities, segment target markets, and gather insights that support sales strategies.
  • Solid analytical skills to interpret data, evaluate performance, and recommend improvements to business development activities.
  • Prior experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development, ideally within telecom, IT, or related technology services.
  • Comfort working with CRM systems, sales tools, and basic productivity software (e.g., MS Office or equivalent).
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple opportunities and tasks.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with a focus on ethical, consultative selling.
  • Relevant education in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
