Senior Business Development Executive

Salary: Competitive
Location: Leeds, UK
Hours: Full-time

Overview

Our client, an international law firm, is seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to support the delivery of business development and marketing strategy across several legal practice areas.

This hands-on role combines strategic planning, bids and tenders, client targeting, CRM management, and marketing communications. You will work closely with partners, fee earners, and senior stakeholders, taking ownership of high-profile business development projects and helping identify and convert new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior stakeholders to develop, implement, and review business development plans across multiple legal practice areas.
  • Lead targeting activity and track opportunities arising from major programs, campaigns, and client initiatives.
  • Manage bids and tenders, including pre-qualification responses, proposal drafting, and appropriate bid opportunities, while supporting major panel tenders.
  • Build strong relationships with partners and other stakeholders, acting as a trusted business development adviser.
  • Produce credentials, case studies, testimonials, capability statements, presentations, and pitch materials.
  • Support partners and fee earners with client meetings, pitches, and other business development activity.
  • Maintain relevant website and business development content, ensuring information is accurate, current, and easy to find.
  • Promote effective use of CRM and central credentials systems, while monitoring and measuring business development activity.
  • Support internal communications relating to campaigns, initiatives, events, and key client work.

  • Previous experience working in a professional services or similar organization.
  • Strong business development capability, with the initiative to take ownership and deliver work to completion.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills, including confidence working with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to delivering business development activity.
