Business Development Trainee | Chelmsford, Essex (On-site)
Monday–Friday | 9am–6pm | Competitive base pay + commission
Business development is about understanding where growth comes from customers, relationships, commercial opportunities and the decisions that turn them into results.
We are looking for a Business Development Trainee to join our growing sales and marketing company in Chelmsford. This role offers hands-on experience for someone who wants to build their commercial knowledge and understand how customer acquisition, campaign performance and business growth work in practice.
You’ll gain hands-on exposure to live marketing campaigns for nationally recognised brands, developing an understanding of how businesses strengthen their market presence, reach new audiences and create opportunities for growth. You’ll learn how campaign activity, customer insights and market feedback contribute to commercial decisions and help shape the way brands grow.

What day to day will look like
- Customer acquisition and relationship building
- Identifying customer needs and commercial opportunities
- Understanding sales and marketing campaign performance
- Developing confident business communication skills
- Understanding how revenue and customer growth are generated
- Taking on increased campaign and business responsibility as you develop
This is a trainee-level opportunity so extensive business development experience isn’t required. We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, confident communicating with different people and keen to learn through practical experience.

Previous experience in sales, retail, hospitality, customer service, marketing or business can be valuable, but transferable skills are equally important.
Development includes one-to-one coaching and workshops across sales, business and leadership, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility based on your development and performance.
