Business Development Manager - Reuters Events - Aerospace & Defense Portfolio

This full-time position is based in Canary Wharf, London with hybrid working available.

Looking for a role allowing you to grow a growing events portfolio further? The kind of role where you’re acting as a consultant with a lot of autonomy, creatively compiling and selling custom sponsorship packages that meet your clients’ needs? This might be the role for you.

Reuters Events are looking for a Business Development Manager to consult with some of the world's largest and most influential aerospace and defense clients on behalf of one of the most trusted news and information brands. As a Business Development Manager, you'll play an active role in driving new and repeat business across our international portfolio of events, crafting tailored event sponsorship packages that meet your clients' specific goals. In this varied, lucrative and autonomous role, you'll partner with some of the world’s most renowned defense brands and selling a range of sponsorship packages on our thought leadership-led events.

Reuters Events combines Reuters' globally trusted brand, scale and editorial excellence with a leading portfolio of B2B events. We provide content-led conferences for professionals in a variety of specialized industry sectors including energy, pharmaceutical, automotive, insurance, finance and legal (to name a few!) to complement our extensive, in-depth business media content. We exist to deliver strategic business intelligence and foster the relationships that safeguards success at leading organisations worldwide.

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager at Reuters Events you will:

  • Generate revenue across our international aerospace and defense event portfolio. As an individual contributor, you won’t have management responsibility and will drive revenue across the portfolio as lead seller.
  • Work collaboratively with other executives and producers across the defense and aerospace portfolio, selling tailored sponsorship packages to a variety of global brands.
  • Use your great command of the written word to both gauge what our clients actually need, communicating value propositions tailored to their business goals.
  • Be curious around changes in business markets. We’re looking for someone that enjoys learning how shifting market dynamics create challenges and opportunities for our clients, and how our events can help them navigate change.
  • Work closely and collaborate with our Conference Production team to establish the best audiences and maximize the success of our conferences and events.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
