Business Director

VCCP is the global challenger network for challenger brands. With more than 1,500 people across 13 offices in North America, EMEA and APAC, we challenge convention to create value for the world’s most ambitious organisations.

Our founding belief is It Only Works If It All Works. That’s why we bring specialists from every discipline - strategy, AI, data, media, digital, experience, branding, creativity, production, PR, CX, CRM, employee engagement and beyond - into one fully integrated challenger network.

We were founded on the principles of simplicity, collaboration and un-preciousness, and we’ve grown by staying true to them. Today, our clients include some of the world’s most recognisable and progressive brands, such as Virgin Media O2, Barclays, Cadbury, Compare the Market, Domino’s, White Claw, easyJet, Primark and Co-op.

VCCP has topped the AAR’s annual new business ranking in 13 of the last 14 years and holds multiple Agency of the Year titles. Across every company and every capability, we share the same ambition: to challenge ourselves, challenge our clients and challenge the industry for the better.

This role is for a Business Director with multichannel campaign management experience and a background working at advertising agencies. (6-month FTC)

About the Role

Business Directors at VCCP are responsible for managing a single large key client or multiple clients, championing client growth. They lead their direct reports and wider agency resources in pursuit of creating highly effective, integrated work that populates culture and meets the challenger agency philosophy. They are ultimately responsible for ensuring client satisfaction and long-term profitable relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial and Financial

VCCP BDs are the lead strategic adviser to their client(s) and the ‘go-to’ person for helping them with their business issues and leading the SADs and wider team.

  • Lead your account team to develop proactive and responsive strategic proposals which drive demonstrable value for your clients.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key budget-holding clients across their business at senior levels, seeking opportunities and developing plans for business growth within your accounts.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with senior people in partner agencies.
  • Be accountable for client revenue targets across your accounts – in terms of forecasts, the buck stops with you – you need to take responsibility for them, anticipating and reacting rapidly to changes in your clients' businesses which impact on revenue.
  • Take the lead in client negotiations with senior-level procurement and marketing contacts to agree agency fees and retainers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
