Business Engineering Role at Meta

Business Engineering is looking for impact-focused engineers ready to bring their ideas and make a difference. We are technology experts who apply our software engineering skills to bring a unique blend of business and technology to ensure that our partners succeed. Our team is at the intersection of business and innovation where you will execute on solving real-world business challenges through Meta's platforms and community in many of today’s most exciting industries and products. You will produce scalable production-grade code across Meta's platforms in collaboration with other product engineering teams. You will get to learn and build on different tech stacks and languages. You will use your experience and the freedom that the role provides to create your own opportunities and choose how you make an impact. The work we do pushes the boundaries of scale and speed. Our work transcends technology and ensures that the solutions we build translate into meaningful business outcomes. Our code is designed to enhance and accelerate business growth. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Meta's clients — working directly with them to understand their challenges, helping them integrate with Meta's platforms, and feeding field insights back to Product teams to shape platform capabilities
  • From market insights, lead the development of new products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams and cross functional partners to meet business needs
  • Understand and apply comprehensive knowledge of products, technologies, and domains to build solutions to solve for problems at scale
  • Design and build end-to-end systems and launch-plan strategies
  • Guide workflow changes, and align and influence stakeholders while driving toward solutions
  • Proactively communicate feedback, updates, and statuses to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Lead strategy and roadmap for clients, grounded on business objectives, driving client integrations with Meta's platform products to maximize value creation
  • Build and manage strong working relationships with key technical and business counterparts. Mentor and share knowledge with peers, connecting contacts across teams to drive strategic alignment
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback while quickly actioning feedback from code reviews conducted of your code
  • Influence strategic decisions through presentation of data-centric business topics
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within Business Engineering and lead domain-level projects
  • Lead interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring of team members
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years as a software engineer building and shipping production quality code
  • Experience with open source languages such as PHP, Python, Java, or JavaScript Frameworks
  • Experience with writing and shipping reliable, scalable, and efficient code, with an emphasis on long-term maintainability, in partnership with all appropriate reviewers, in manageable pieces with relevant documentation and test plans
  • Experience with software design and architecture
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience contributing to open source projects, shared code repositories, and/or personal projects
  • Experience contributing to developer and platform documentation
  • Client facing and/or experience communicating to an audience
  • Experience working in highly collaborative environments
  • Experience mentoring engineers on technical architecture and system design
