Role Summary

A skilled Power BI Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards, reports, and data models that support business decision-making. Experienced in transforming complex data into meaningful insights using Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and SQL, while integrating data from multiple sources. Strong focus on data quality, performance optimization, and stakeholder engagement to deliver scalable business intelligence solutions that drive operational efficiency and strategic outcomes.

Role Responsibilities

  • Developing PowerBI dashboards to provide business insights
  • Maintaining PowerBI apps and security access
  • Optimize existing PowerBI semantic models for data quality and efficiency
  • Develop and optimize DAX measures for business metrics
  • Working with stakeholders to understand business requirements
  • Training non-technical uses how to use and develop PowerBI
  • Support ETL, common data structures and business intelligence architectures.
  • Operate in a support capacity to the business, troubleshooting issues with data reporting.
  • Assist other members of the Data & Reporting team with integration and system specific tasks.
  • Develop and update technical documentation.
  • To abide by all FatFace policies, procedures and brand values

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of Business Intelligence reporting packages, preferably PowerBI
  • Experience teaching non-technical users how to user PowerBI
  • Experience project management tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Interest in analytics, data architecture and modelling.
  • Experience of enterprise software, Azure Cloud apps, databases, data models.
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence services and data integration processes (ETL)

Role Competencies

  • Adept at building detailed and comprehensive PowerBI dashboards for use by departments across the business
  • Analytical, a natural problem solver, able to find patterns and trends in data and support incidents
  • Determined, persistent and proactive. Keen to understand, analyse and improve.
  • Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical members of staff.
  • Ability to self-teach new BI technologies and be resourceful in finding appropriate documentation and community support
  • Ability to interpret complex data and able to convert data into useful, actionable information.

Data & Reporting Team:

  • Collaborate closely with team members to support ETL processes, troubleshoot data pipeline issues, and improve data architecture.

Internal Stakeholders:

  • Work with various departments (e.g., finance, operations, marketing) to understand data requirements and provide fit-for-purpose analytical dashboards.

IT and Digital Teams:

  • Collaborate on infrastructure improvements, cloud architecture optimization, and technical design.

Accountable for Resources:

Documentation:

  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for processes, data models, and architecture.

Tools and Platforms:

  • Oversee the development and operation of tools like Power BI.

Data Quality:

  • Accountable for validating and improving the accuracy and quality of data from both internal and external sources.
