Business Intelligence Analyst
Rochdale Borough Council is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst who can use their expertise and curiosity to develop data-driven solutions for Children’s Services.
About the Role
Children’s Services require appropriate evidence to assess the impact that changes made to front-line practice are having, for example, that they are safe, effective, and performing to a high standard.
The Business Intelligence Analyst role will develop business intelligence data products, provide insightful data analysis, and inform stakeholders about the efficiency and effectiveness of practices and processes, within the context of the overall strategy for service development and continuous improvement.
A key driver for the role is to improve and accelerate the development of automated, self-serve data intelligence and insight for children’s social care, early help, and education directorates, such as but not limited to data dashboards, and transition away from older reporting approaches.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
