About the Role
Rochdale Borough Council is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst who can take a key role in the development and implementation of our Families First Programme.
Multi-agency safeguarding partners require appropriate evidence to understand the impact that changes made to front-line safeguarding practice are having, for example, that they are safe, effective and performing to a high standard.
The Business Intelligence Analyst role will work with safeguarding partners and internal colleagues to develop and implement performance management and outcome frameworks. Using those frameworks, the Analyst will deliver extensive and insightful data analysis. They will create and present regular reports that inform safeguarding partners about the efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day practice and processes which will be used as part of a continuous cycle of improvement and to monitor the overall impact of the Families First Programme.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
