🚨 SQL nerds who actually like talking to people… I need you 🚨

I’m working on a brand new BI & Insight Analyst role with a business making some BIG investments into their data capability and, this one is properly business facing.

You’ll be working with teams across the business to understand their data questions, dig into what they actually need and turn that into reporting, dashboards and insights they can actually use.

You’ll know your way around SQL and be comfortable querying, joining, transforming and exploring data across different sources.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Power BI / BI reporting experience will be a big part of your toolkit too but, just as important is being able to sit with a stakeholder, understand the question behind the question and work out what the data is actually telling them.

You’ll probably enjoy this one if you like:

  • Getting stuck into messy data and figuring out what’s going on
  • Turning vague business questions into something useful
  • Building reports and supporting dashboards people actually use
  • Working with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Challenging a request when there’s a better way of doing things

Experience with SQL, PowerBI, Microsoft SQL, Synapse or Azure SQL would be a lovely bonus 👀

Basically, we don’t just need someone who can pull the data. We need someone who can make sense of it.
