Business Intelligence Analyst

At Convergence Group, we're on a mission to eradicate complexity and make business connectivity as simple and reliable as the 4th utility. As we grow, we're becoming more product-led, more data-driven and more focused on finding smarter ways to serve our customers and improve how we operate. We're looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst who can turn data into something more than numbers on a dashboard. You'll bring together data from across the business, uncover what's really happening and turn it into clear insight that helps people make better decisions.

What It’s Really Like Here

The pace and intensity are higher than most environments in our sector. The workload is typically around 30% greater than many people will have experienced elsewhere - not because we are chaotic, but because we are ambitious and constantly building. We grow organically and through acquisition, continuously integrating, improving and raising the bar. The landscape evolves, priorities shift, and expectations rise. If you prefer a predictable, static environment, this probably won’t feel comfortable. If you are energised by growth, movement and high standards, it can be deeply rewarding.

Your strengths will have a bigger platform here - and you will be stretched behaviourally more than in most environments. We value respectful honesty: anyone can challenge an idea; hierarchy doesn’t protect thinking and getting it right matters more than being right. Ego doesn’t perform well here; curiosity, learning and ownership do. We hire people who are already strong at their craft - the stretch at Convergence Group is navigating pace, complexity and constant evolution. This environment isn’t for everyone, but for the right person it offers an exceptional opportunity for impact, growth and accelerated development.

What You'll Be Doing As Our Business Intelligence Analyst

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll work across the business, helping teams and leaders make better, faster and more informed decisions. That means you'll:

  • Make data useful - bring together data from different sources, analyse it, spot trends and anomalies, and turn complex information into clear, actionable insight.
  • Build BI people actually use - create and improve dashboards and reports using Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate and Excel, making information easy to understand and act on.
  • Automate the manual stuff - identify repetitive reporting and inefficient processes and find smarter ways of doing them. If something can be automated, you'll be expected to ask why we’re still doing it manually.
  • Keep our data trustworthy - work with system owners to improve data quality, consistency and governance so that people can trust the information they're using to make decisions.
  • Work with people, not just data - get to grips with what different teams actually need from their information, translate business questions into practical solutions and confidently challenge where appropriate.
  • Support change and transformation - use data and insight to support new initiatives, system transitions and continuous improvement, helping the business become more efficient and scalable.
  • Find the commercial opportunity - connect the numbers to what's happening in the real world, identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and profitability.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, MI or similar analytical role, and you'll be comfortable working with both data and people
  • Solid experience of data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar
  • Advanced Excel skills, with good knowledge of Power Query and ideally Power Automate
  • Experience working with financial or commercial data and an understanding of financial reporting and business performance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of data quality and governance, and why accurate, consistent data matters
  • Experience supporting systems implementation, migration or transition, with an understanding of how system changes can affect data and reporting
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels, explain data to non-technical people and challenge when something doesn't stack up
