The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Data & Business Intelligence Analyst to join a growing and dynamic organisation within the insurance sector. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to help shape the organisation’s data and BI capabilities. Working closely with the COO, business leaders and a third-party BI team, you will take ownership of data structures, reporting and analytics, helping turn complex business data into meaningful insights that support better decision-making.

You’ll be equally comfortable getting into the detail of data schemas, SQL and reporting as you are working with senior stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into practical BI solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will play a key role in developing and managing the organisation’s data and business intelligence capabilities, including:

• Understanding complex entity relationships within the insurance domain and translating them into effective, scalable data schemas.
• Managing the relationship with a third-party BI team to develop and maintain a robust data warehouse capable of supporting complex reporting requirements.
• Designing and developing intuitive reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
• Working with teams across the business to define reporting requirements and ensure data is accurate, consistent and meaningful.
• Managing role-based reporting and developing appropriate data models for different user groups.
• Analysing complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities.
• Presenting findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing processes that improve data management, reporting and decision-making.
• Conducting root cause analysis to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks to support data quality, integrity and security.
• Managing and optimising data sources, ETL processes and data warehousing solutions.
• Partnering with business leaders to understand their objectives and provide strategic, data-led recommendations.
• Conducting ad-hoc analysis to answer key business questions and support continuous improvement.
• Contributing to the organisation’s longer-term BI strategy and roadmap.
