Position Summary

Ogletree’s Knowledge and Innovation department has an opportunity for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join the expanding department. The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining analytics solutions that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role works closely with business partners to gather requirements, build scalable BI datasets, create dashboards and reports, and maintain the underlying data infrastructure that powers business insights. The BI Developer also performs complex data analysis, ensures data quality, and supports client-facing reporting needs.

Essential Functions

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze, interpret, and visualize trends or patterns in complex data sets to support business decisions.
  • Perform data quality reviews and data assessments to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports for internal stakeholders and external clients under tight deadlines.

Business Intelligence Development

  • Design, develop, deploy, and manage Power BI/Tableau datasets, dashboards, and paginated reports.
  • Build effective, user-friendly visualizations that meet business requirements and align with reporting standards.
  • Maintain and enhance existing BI solutions to improve performance, usability, and data accuracy.

SQL Development & Database Management

  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from enterprise data systems.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance SQL Server stored procedures to support automated reporting and data pipelines.
  • Enhance and troubleshoot existing SQL queries and database logic to improve performance and reliability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with business partners across departments to capture reporting requirements, clarify data needs, and design effective BI solutions.
  • Serve as a key technical liaison between business teams, IT, and data stakeholders.
  • Interact with client contacts regularly to deliver reporting, understand needs, and provide support.

Data Systems & Collaboration Tools

  • Develop and maintain SharePoint and Smartsheet solutions used for workflow management, collaboration, and data consolidation.
  • Ensure data governance standards, documentation, and best practices are adhered to across BI assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including stored procedure development.
  • 3-5 Years of Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI visualization tools.
  • Ability to analyze large and complex data sets.
  • Experience creating dashboards, reports, and data models.
  • Strong background in data modeling, DAX/MDX, or equivalent analytics languages.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience gathering and translating business requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience with SharePoint, Smartsheet, or similar collaboration tools.
  • Knowledge of ETL concepts or familiarity with data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric’s end-to-end analytics capabilities, including integration with Power BI and OneLake.
  • Experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata, and data quality best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Python frameworks or libraries

Wage Transparency

The pay range for this remote position varies by location. Pursuant to the applicable state and local regulations the pay range for each location is listed below. Actual compensation is contingent on relevant experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Ogletree is a multi-state employer. The pay ranges listed reflect compensation for the specific location identified. For roles performed in locations not listed, compensation will be determined based on the applicable location for the position. This role is also eligible for performance-based bonuses and the benefits described below. The application deadline for this position is 12/31/2026.
