Power BI / Business Intelligence Developer
Power BI / Business Intelligence Developer required for a busy and growing business, paying up to £65,000 + Benefits
This is a fully remote working role with only occasional meetups throughout the year - offices located in the South - and you do need to be UK based.
This is a really good opportunity for someone who is genuinely strong in Power BI and enjoys taking business requirements and turning them into clear, useful reporting that people actually want to use.
Power BI sits at the centre of the organisation's reporting; supporting around 300 users across the business – from C-Suite and senior leadership through to Sales, Product, Finance, Business Analysts and operational teams.
The business has grown significantly over the last four years, from around 50 to 600 people, with several acquisitions completed and further growth ongoing. As a result, the BI function now needs additional support to take ownership of the day-to-day reporting workload while the team focus increasingly on integrating new businesses and developing the wider data platform - something you can also grow into as part of the role.
You'll be responsible for creating, maintaining and improving Power BI reports and dashboards, managing requests from users and making sure reporting remains accurate, clear and useful.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
A big part of the role is understanding what somebody is actually trying to achieve rather than simply building exactly what they've asked for. You'll be comfortable questioning requirements, suggesting a better approach where appropriate and translating those conversations into well-designed reports and visualisations.
Your experience will look something like this:
- Strong commercial experience with Power BI
- Very good DAX and semantic/data modelling knowledge
- Experience creating clear, engaging reports and visualisations
- The ability to gather and challenge reporting requirements
- Confidence dealing directly with a broad range of stakeholders, including senior and C-Level users
- SQL experience
- Power Query experience
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to train users
There is also significant scope to broaden your technical skills over time.
You'll get to work with a central semantic model that currently supports the majority of the main reporting suite, therefore strong DAX and data modelling experience will be part of this role.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
The current environment includes SQL Server, Azure Data Factory and Azure DevOps, with the business likely to move further towards Microsoft Fabric and AI-enabled data tooling in the future.
You don't need to be an Azure or Data Engineering expert today. The immediate priority is finding someone excellent with Power BI who can take ownership of reporting and help relieve the pressure on the existing BI function.
I do believe this is a great role for someone strong in Power BI, wants to remain in reports, but also has, or wants to add, some data modelling and engineering skills too.
If you're interested in developing further into SQL, modelling, Azure and Data Engineering as the team continues to grow, there should be plenty of opportunity to do so. Although please note this isn't a role where you'll join and immediately move away from reporting – Power BI will remain a major part of the position for the foreseeable future – but the scale and growth of the business means the role itself should continue to evolve.
