Business Intelligence Developer
6 Month Contract - Good possibility of extension
£425/day (Outside IR35)

We're working with a rapidly growing PE-backed organisation that is expanding through acquisition. They're in the middle of a busy period of system go-lives across several newly acquired companies, with more planned over the coming months. As part of this, they're building out their reporting and data capability, with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric at the centre of that work.
They're looking for a BI Developer to join their small data team on a contract basis, working closely with their existing BI Developer and Data Engineers. This is a hands-on role covering dashboard build, data modelling, and data migration support during the transition period for newly onboarded companies, some of which don't yet have an established IT function. Good communication skills are valued, as the role may involve some light training or guidance for non-technical stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
