This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement that requires 1 day a week in our Coventry Head Office. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

Our People Team play a pivotal role in delivering Arden University’s people strategy, supporting colleagues across the full employee lifecycle. The team provides expert services across recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, learning and development, wellbeing, workforce planning and organisational change, helping to create a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.

About the Opportunity:

As a Business Intelligence Developer at Arden University, you will use your expertise in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to create reliable, user-centred analytics that improve student outcomes, enhance staff experience, and strengthen operational performance. Focusing on people analytics, you will turn complex workforce and colleague data into clear, accessible insights that support evidence-based decision-making across the university.

Working within the People Team, you will help develop Arden’s modern analytics platform in Microsoft Fabric, ensuring our data models, reporting layers, and visualisations are scalable, trusted, and easy to use. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into meaningful data products that tell compelling stories. You will also play an important role in building data literacy, enabling colleagues to confidently use insight in their everyday work.

This role offers the opportunity to shape Arden’s evolving BI ecosystem, contributing to a culture where insight is accessible, reliable, and embedded in decision-making at every level.

About You:

You will be an analytical, collaborative BI professional with strong technical skills and a passion for transforming people data into meaningful insight. You will combine technical expertise with excellent communication skills, and enjoy building solutions that colleagues trust and find easy to use.

  • Business intelligence experience — You will have a solid background in BI development, with hands-on experience designing data models, building reports, and delivering insight in a complex organisation.
  • Microsoft Fabric proficiency — You will be confident working with Fabric’s data engineering, modelling, and reporting capabilities, or you are eager to deepen your expertise in this modern analytics platform.
  • Data lake experience — You will have hands-on experience working with cloud-based data lakes, understanding how to structure, query, and optimise large datasets for analytics and reporting.
  • Power BI expertise — You can create clear, intuitive dashboards and reports, and you understand how to design semantic models that scale.
  • People analytics interest — You enjoy working with HR, workforce, and colleague-experience data, and you understand the importance of accuracy, sensitivity, and clarity in this domain.
  • Stakeholder engagement — You are comfortable working with non-technical colleagues, translating their needs into data products that genuinely support decision-making.
  • Data storytelling — You can turn complex datasets into meaningful narratives that help leaders understand trends and take action.
  • Data literacy mindset — You will be passionate about helping others use data confidently, and you enjoy supporting colleagues to build their analytical capability.
  • Continuous improvement — You will thrive in a modern, evolving BI environment and are motivated by the opportunity to shape a user-centred analytics ecosystem.
