BI Developer

Location: Doncaster (Hybrid)
Salary: Competitive DOE
Industry: Construction
Contract: 6-Month FTC

The Opportunity

I'm currently working with a well-established organisation in the construction sector, that is looking to hire an experienced BI Developer on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a great opportunity to join the BI team and work closely with the BI Manager to deliver and maintain end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions across the organisation.

  • You'll play a key role in developing Power BI reports and dashboards, building and maintaining data warehouse/lakehouse assets and ETL/ELT pipelines, while working closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and turn them into effective BI solutions.
  • A key part of the role will involve developing semantic models, writing DAX and Power Query (M), and ensuring BI solutions are performant, reliable and user-friendly. You'll also work across the wider Microsoft BI stack, with SQL and data integration playing an important part of the role.
  • You'll have plenty of stakeholder interaction, helping to define KPIs and acceptance criteria, present insights and use data storytelling to support better business decisions. You'll also contribute to data quality, governance and security, including access controls and row-level security.
  • The business is also looking at the continued development of responsible AI capabilities, so you'll have the opportunity to explore areas such as Copilot-assisted development, natural-language Q&A and AI-enabled insights in line with organisational policies.

If you're an experienced BI Developer with strong Power BI, DAX, SQL and data modelling experience, and you're looking for an opportunity where you can have a genuine impact across a large organisation, this could be an excellent opportunity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
