Description
The EU Same Day Data Team builds the data products behind Amazon's fastest delivery promise in Europe. We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer II to own speed and cost metrics across the Same Day network and turn complex operational data into decisions that shape how millions of customers get their orders the same day they place them.
You will design and run the pipelines, dashboards, and self-serve datasets that our business partners rely on every day. If you enjoy working close to the operation, building data solutions that scale, and seeing your metrics drive real network changes, this role is for you.
Key job responsibilities
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines on Redshift that turn raw network events into trusted, reusable datasets.
- Own the reporting for offered-speed metrics (latest order cut-off and click-to-promise) and Same Day grocery volume, from source data to executive-ready dashboards.
- Design and publish QuickSight dashboards and self-serve data products so partners can answer their own questions without a bespoke pull each time.
- Define and document metrics so a single number means the same thing across weekly reviews, OP planning, and ad hoc deep dives.
- Investigate anomalies in speed and volume data, trace them to root cause, and communicate findings clearly to technical and business audiences.
- Partner with operations, program, and finance stakeholders to translate business questions into data models and measurable outcomes.
- Apply high engineering standards to the team's assets: version control, code review, monitoring, and ruthless deprecation of what is no longer used.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Your customers are the Same Day operations, program, and finance teams across EU5, and the problems you solve range from a one-off launch deep dive to the metrics that leadership uses to steer the network.
