Company Description

Beehive News is a pioneering news-rating platform and the only news app in the world that assesses news quality at the individual article level, in real time and at scale. Our mission is to combat misinformation at the source, make high-quality journalism easier for readers to identify, and support a healthier information ecosystem.

Using proprietary technology, Beehive News produces thousands of daily ratings and detailed assessments of articles from major UK and international news outlets, evaluating journalistic rigour and professional best practices.

We operate across three areas: B2C, through the Beehive News consumer app; B2B, working with publishers and corporate partners to provide quality and relevance data, analytics and intelligence; and B2G, partnering with public institutions and media regulators on media quality, misinformation and information integrity.

We are a small and international and mission-driven team using technology to fight misinformation and improve the quality of the information people consume.

Role Description

We are exploring the addition of a Business Intelligence In-House Consultant to work across our B2C, B2B and B2G activities.

The role sits at the intersection of data analytics, strategy, research, and product. You will turn complex datasets into actionable insights, identify patterns and opportunities, structure analytical approaches to new business questions, and translate findings into clear recommendations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Analysing large datasets on news content and user behaviour
  • Developing dashboards, reports, and data visualisations for readers and publishers
  • Designing and refining data models
  • Collaborating with our product and technology teams to improve methodologies and products

Beyond technical analysis, we are looking for someone who can think like a consultant: structure ambiguous problems, develop hypotheses, determine what data is needed to answer them, and communicate what the results mean for the business. Experience in strategy consulting is a big plus.

This is not a position we are committed to filling at any cost. We will only make a hire if we find someone who strongly matches the profile we are looking for, both professionally and in terms of alignment with our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights
  • Structure ambiguous business, product, and research questions into clear analytical approaches
  • Analyse user behaviour and product performance across our B2C platform
  • Develop insights and analytical solutions for publishers, corporate partners, and public-sector organisations
  • Build dashboards, reports, and data visualisations that communicate findings clearly
  • Design and refine data models and support and data-integration workflows
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across analyses and reporting
  • Combine quantitative analysis with qualitative research to develop hypotheses and recommendations
  • Work directly with the founders, product, and technology teams to translate insights into decisions
  • Present complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Help continuously improve how Beehive News collects, analyses, and uses data

  • Solid foundation in Data Science and Data Analytics, including statistical methods and data-driven problem solving
  • Experience in data analytics, strategy consulting, business intelligence, research, or a similarly analytical role
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with tools such as Python or R will be considered a plus
  • Experience with BI dashboards, data visualisation tools, and modern data platforms will also be a plus
  • Ability to go beyond reporting numbers and explain what they mean, why they matter, and what should be done about them
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively within a small, distributed team

Candidates should know and have explored the Beehive News app before applying. We will be interested in understanding why you want to work with us, believe in our potential, and how you think we can do what we do better.

Most importantly, you should be genuinely passionate about fighting misinformation, improving journalism, and strengthening the quality of public information.
