What will you be doing

Connexin is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to help customers unlock the value of their data through our BI platform, ConnexinOS. This client-facing role combines consultancy, Business Intelligence as a Service (BIaaS), cloud architecture and analytics delivery across public sector, utilities, and enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead customer discovery workshops and translate business requirements into BI solutions.
  • Deliver Business Intelligence as a Service (BIaaS) including dashboards, KPI frameworks and managed reporting.
  • Design and optimise data models, ETL/ELT processes and reporting solutions.
  • Work with Google Cloud Platform technologies including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Looker and IAM.
  • Develop dashboards using Looker (or similar tools as appropriate).
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to shape the ConnexinOS roadmap.
  • Provide customer training, documentation and ongoing consultancy.
  • Champion data governance, quality, security and GDPR compliance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the exploration and implementation of emerging BI practices and technologies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong SQL skills and data modelling experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Google Cloud Platform architecture (BigQuery, Looker, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, IAM).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills, with the ability to gather requirements, challenge assumptions and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex situations, identify solutions, and make sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to mitigate risks and resolve project issues effectively.
  • Change Management: Proficiency in change management principles and practices.
  • Ability to drive and manage change within the organisation, ensuring successful adoption of new processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Analytical and Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess project performance, monitor metrics, and provide data-driven insights. Familiarity with project management software/tools for planning, tracking, and reporting project progress.
  • Advanced Looker and LookML expertise, including the development of views, Explores, refinements, derived tables, dimensions, measures and reusable semantic models.

Experience

  • 5+ years' experience delivering Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Experience working in a client-facing BIaaS, SaaS or consultancy environment.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs and data warehousing.
  • Experience in managing stakeholders at various levels, including senior executives and external partners.
  • Prior experience in a growth-oriented organisation or start-up environment is highly desirable.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics or similar (or equivalent commercial experience).
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics.

Desirable

  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer.
  • Looker Business Analyst or Looker Developer certification (or equivalent ‘Google Skills’ badges).
  • ITIL Foundation.

Success Criteria

  • Successfully onboard new BIaaS customers.
  • Deliver high-quality dashboards with strong customer adoption.
  • Contribute to the ConnexinOS product roadmap.
  • Improve customer satisfaction through analytics and insight.
  • Produce knowledge share documentation to support the platform.
